ABOUT THE POET
As a native of Fairfield and descendant of several families who settled Jefferson County in the 1800s, my love of the town and the Iowa prairie is as deep as my roots. Born in 1946, I was welcomed into this life by a dozen grandparents, three grandparents, eight great-grandparents, and a great-great grandmother. I’ve been very blessed by so much love and nurture. Now, myself a grandmother of eight, I continue to cherish family and home above all else.
Among many and varied interests is a lifelong love of prose & poetry. My own poetry and other creative efforts are inspired by, and reflect, my appreciation of nature and a life of “simple abundance”; and my enthusiasm for all things numinous and metaphysical. My spiritual journey is one without path or distance; poetry is my “bridge to no-where”.
