Judy Liese
Judy Liese grew up in Wisconsin and began writing poetry as soon as she learned to print in big block letters. In 1986 she took time out from a busy nursing career to go back to school, earning a BA in Literature and an MA in English and Creative Writing at MIU. After graduation, she returned to nursing, but honed her writing skills in Diane Frank’s journal writing and poetry groups. Her poetry has been published in Lyrical Iowa, Embroidered Horizons, The Source, and Eclipsed Moon Coins. Six years ago she and her husband of forty-five years moved from Iowa to Northern California to be closer to their son. She continues to study with Diane Frank in on-line poetry workshops.
