James Moore
ABOUT THE POET
James Moore is a freelance writer, musician, and published poet. He is currently general manager of KRUU-LP 100.1 FM, a solar-powered, independent, grassroots community radio station, music editor for the Iowa Source, a regional arts and entertainment monthly, and part-time faculty member at Maharishi University of Management in the communications department.
Described as ‘a firm member of a why not generation of dreamers by Des Moines Register features’ writer Mike Kilen and a ‘cultural entrepreneur’ by Sustainable Living Coalition co-founder Lonnie Gamble, Moore has lived and studied in Spain, France, Switzerland, India, the Philippines, Mexico, England, and Bahrain, earning an undergraduate degree in the Science of Creative Intelligence and a Masters in business administration.
He resides in Fairfield, Iowa, where he is pursuing his passion for citizen journalism and Canadian literature. His work has appeared in Modern Drummer, Punk Debris, Lyrical Iowa, Iowa City Press-Citizen, and Ottumwa Courier, among others.
